For England and Wales A new Regulation for electrical safety, which is hoped will makes homes safer was announced on the 29th June 2004 by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and became law on 1st January 2005 Each year on average 10 people die and about 750 are seriously injured in accidents involving unsafe electrical installations in the home. The aim will be to reduce the risk from electrocution in the home and placed electric wiring within the scope of the Building Regulations for the first time. the requirements of Part P and Requirements for Electrical Installations
